Letter: Parade incident was handled well by allLetter writer says emergency workers responded well when a semi clipped a power line during the Dew Days parade.
To the editor,
We were sitting in front of the Farmington Library to watch the Dew Days parade. We were about 30 feet from the pole when the truck struck the overhead wires. A young lady wearing an orange shirt with the letters FFD on the back (I assume she was connected with the Farmington Fire Department) immediately steeped in and moved people out of potential danger. In a very short time the police department secured the area with yellow tape.
We want to compliment both people and departments for their actions in a very professional manner. Also the people responsible for the parade who re-routed it in a very short time deserve thanks for their prompt attention to an unforeseen incident.
