Your weekend: Farmers market takes place Thursday downtown

Farmers market
Farmington’s summer farmers market will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. July 5 outside city hall on Third Street. The market features fresh produce and other products from a variety of local sellers. There will also be special events most weeks.
Friday
Global games
Play through the Ages with Mr. Fun from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 6 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. Kids can learn about different cultures and games using juggling sticks, diabolos and poi swings. The activity is designed for kids ages 5 to 12. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Live music
Karl Burke will perform acoustic folk music from 8 to 10 p.m. July 6 outdoors at Dunn Bros. Coffee. Dunn Bros. is located at 20700 Chippendale Ave.

Teen advisory group
The teen advisory group to the Dakota County Farmington Library will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. July 9 at the library. TAG recommends books and music and helps plan library programs. New members are welcome. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Teen Library Day
The Dakota County Farmington Library will have a variety of drop-in activities, games, crafts and more for Teen Library Day from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 10. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Make elephant pots at the library
Use clay and your imagination to mix colors, make the parts and put together elephant pots from 10:30 11:30 a.m. July 12 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. This activity is for kids 3 to 12. Registration is required. For more information call the library at 651-438-0250.
Blood drive
There will be a Red Cross blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 12 at Valmont Industries, 20805 Easton Ave. To donate, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment. All blood types are needed.
Comedy improv
Teens can learn the basics of comedy improv, including slapstick movement and joke telling, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. July 12 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. Registration is required. For more information call the library at 651-438-0250.
