Four candidates will participate in a first-round interview for the vacant finance director position with the city of Farmington.
The city received nine applications for the finance director position, which has been vacant since Theresa Walter abruptly resigned from the post in June.
According to city administrator David McKnight, the candidates include Robin Hanson, former deputy commissioner and finance director for the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency; Andrew Lenz, senior financial analyst with the city of Minneapolis; Daniel Lenz, senior management and budget analyst for Johnson County, Kan.; and Robert Mittet, former finance director from the city of Maplewood.
The first round of interviews will be held Thursday, July 19. Top candidates will be selected after the first round, McKnight said. The top candidates will come back for a second round of interviews with the city council, finance staff, and other staff members.
“It’s an important decision,” McKnight said. “I’m intrigued by the people we’re going to be interviewing next Thursday and I’m looking forward to the discussions we’re going to have with them.”
