A 27-year-old man from Farmington was arrested for driving while intoxicated on July 1.

A deputy was on patrol on Highway 3 near Empire Township when he saw a vehicle traveling towards him, cross over the centerline. According to a complaint filed in the Dakota County Attorney’s office, the deputy pulled the car over and identified the driver as 27-year-old Mathew Alan McGlade. The deputy smelled a strong odor of alcohol; McGlade admitted to that he had been drinking beer earlier that morning. The deputy put McGlade through field sobriety tests, which he failed. When given a breath test, McGlade blew a .311, nearly three times the legal limit. McGlade was arrested and brought to the Dakota County Jail.

McGlade has been charged with two counts of second degree driving while impaired. He could face up to one year in jail and up to a $3,000 fine on each count.
