Family game day
Farmington families can play a selection of classic and unique board games, card games and Nintendo Wii games from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Live outdoor music
Tim Fast will perform blues, indie and country music on guitar and harmonica outdoors at Dunn Bros. Coffee from 8 to 10 p.m. Aug. 10. The performance will take place rain or shine. Dunn Bros. is located at 20700 Chippendale Ave.
Red Cross blood drive
There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Dakota County Fair. For more information or to schedule an appointment call 1-800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood. org.
Teen-fiction author Emily Shore will sign her debut novel “Flesher,” a post-apocalyptic zombie romance, from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 11 at Dunn Bros. Coffee. She will also read from the book and take questions. Dunn Bros. is located at 20700 Chippendale Ave.
Dakota County Fair
The Dakota County Fair wraps up its weeklong run with events this weekend. The schedule of events from here on out includes bull riding at 7 p.m. Thursday and a performance by Johnny Holm from 8:45 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. the same night. Friday features a demolition derby at 7 p.m. and a performance by Hitchville from 8:30 to 12:30. Saturday brings more demolition, again at 7:30 p.m., and Lost Highway on the beer garden stage at 8:30. For a full schedule of fair events visit dakotacountyfair.org.
