Genis leads 33 Farmington runners in Twin Cities Marathon
Thirty-three Farmington residents were among the 8,779 runners who braved the cold temperatures to run in the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Sunday in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Thirty-three Farmington residents were among the 8,779 runners who braved the cold temperatures to run in the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Sunday in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Celacio Genis was the top local finisher. He completed the race in 3:09:07 to place 427th overall, 380th out of 5,094 male runners and 79th out of 844 runners in his age group. He averaged 7:14 per mile.
Other local runners breaking four hours were David Dykhuizen, Jeremy Holman, Peter Cisewski, Daniel Elioff and Nicholas Lien.
Gail Gruebling was the top local female finisher with a 3,419th-place time of 4:00:53.
Other local finishers were Alem Tesfaledete, Amy Mellang, Kevin Fowler, Sarah Morgan, Chris Benjamin, Meloni Broughten, Matt Wilson, Pam Nordseth, Terrence, Hiden, Monica Meier, Jeff Miller, Tim Zbaracki, Jackie Brula, Hoon Yu, Tracy Duval, Kristine Benjamin, Pam Frost, Steve Wilson, Kerri Fitzgerald, Amy Linder-Hewitt, Thomas Ryther, Lynn Greenslit, Nicole Sickmann, Kumiko Miller, Karen St. John and Jessica Schofield.
