Volleyball: Seniors score win in Farmington’s final home game
The Farmington volleyball team’s eight seniors celebrated Senior Night by helping the team get back to the .500 mark with a three-game sweep of Holy Angels last Tuesday at Tiger Gym. The Farmington volleyball team’s eight seniors celebrated Senior Night by helping the team get back to the .500 mark with a three-game sweep of Holy Angels last Tuesday at Tiger Gym.
The Tigers opened with a 25-8 rout and went on to win the next two games, 27-25 and 25-15.
Senior Mia Johnston led the Tigers with 18 assists. Senior Rachel Eckert led the defense with 14 serve receptions and senior Emily Nelson tied Makenzie Hesse for the team lead with six digs. Senior Kaylene Seurer once again led the team with eight blocks.
Emma Fahning led the team with 12 kills and Ruthanne Schmitt supplied three ace serves.
Other seniors on this year’s team are Courtney Johnston, Kayla Collins, Kelsey Lindell and Elissa Baago.
The Tigers took a 13-13 overall record and a 2-4 league mark into Tuesday’s regular season finale at Shakopee. The Section 1AAA tournament begins next week
