Thursday
Guitar Hero at the library
Teens can play Guitar Hero on the big screen at the Dakota County Farmington Library from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Ladies on the Loose happy hour
Market on Oak will offer snacks, refreshments and beverage and appetizer samples along with specials throughout the store from 5 until 8 p.m. Oct. 18. Women who show up in costume will receive an additional 10 percent off. Market on Oak is located at 331 Third St.
Friday
Teddy bears with Abrakadoodle
Kids ages 3 to 12 can use Model Magic clay to create their own teddy bear from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The event is free but registration is required. Call 651-438-0250 for more information.

Published singer/songwriter/guitarist Tom Engelhardt will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. Oct. 19 at Dunn Bros. Coffee in Farmington. Dunn Bros. is located at 20700 Chippendale Ave.

Waggin’ Tales
Kids can improve their reading skills by reading to trained therapy dogs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Dakota County Farmington Library.
Potato and sundae bar
St. Michael’s Catholic Church will offer a potato and sundae bar from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20. The church is located at 22120 Denmark Ave.
Steak fry
The Farmington VFW will hold a steak fry to benefit Boy Scout Troop 116 from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 20. The VFW is located at 421 Third St.
Sunday
Trinity Lutheran anniversary service
Trinity Lutheran Church will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a service of praise and thanksgiving at 3 p.m. and a catered dinner at 5 p.m. Oct. 21. For reservations to the dinner call Darline Lehman at 651-423-1421, Mary Christensen at 651-463-2699 or the church at 651-463-7225.
VFW membership dinner
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Sypal Lundgren Post 7662, ladies auxiliary and men’s auxiliary will have their annual membership dinner from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Oct. 21 at the club, 421 Third St. There will be a social hour from 3:30 to 5 and dinner at 5:30. A program will follow. Members who have paid their 2013 dues will not be charged for their dinner. For guests there will be a $12 charge.
Weekend
Haunted house
A Nightmare on Ellington Trail will return for its fifth year on two upcoming weekends and Halloween night. The haunted house has a goal of collecting more than 1,000 pounds of food for the Farmington Food Shelf. Admission is one non-perishable food item or a gift card from a local grocery store. The haunted house will run from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 19, 20, 26, 27 and 31 at 19337 Ellington Tr.

Henna body art
Learn about henna with artist Victoria Welch and practice making body art from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The class for kids age 12 to 18 is free but registration is retired. For information call 651-438-0250.
