A Farmington lawncare business has lost its permit to collect sales taxes following a recent decision by the Minnesota Department of Revenue.

The department of revenue recently revoked the sales tax permit of Shamrock Lawn Services after the business failed to pay more than $22,000 in sales tax to the state for a period from 2006 to 2011.

Sales tax money collected by a business cannot be used for any other purpose. It is considered a felony if a business continues to make retail sales after its sales tax permit is revoked.

According to online listings at sites like Angie’s List Shamrock has been in business since 2000 or 2001. It received positive reviews from customers.
