Marjorie "Marge" Slavicek, age 90, of Farmington, formerly of Jordan, passed away on Nov. 26.

Marge was a proud descendent of Dakota County homesteaders. Marge attended country school in Eureka - District 49 and was a 1940 graduate of Farmington High School.
She was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was an active member for many years of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed acting as a weather reporter for the National Weather Service. Marge was a member of the United Methodist Church in Jordan and rejoined the Presbyterian Church in Farmington when she moved back to Farmington in 2006.
She was an incredible cook and was known to many for her spaghetti sauce, popcorn balls, pizzelles and kolackys. She was an avid cookbook collector and creator. Marge loved people and cherished any chance to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed her Thursday Lunch Bunch, Yahtzee, Dominoes, Rummikub, Bananagrams, and Scrabble. She faithfully completed the Wonderword puzzle in the paper each morning. She loved family history and reading a good book.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Slavicek, who she married on Nov. 22, 1947; also by her parents, William and Ethel Pool; and brother, Bob Pool.
She is survived by her loving children, Lee (Sandy) Slavicek and Naomi (Don) Stovall; grandchildren, Adam (Devin) and Aaron (Amber) Slavicek and Jessica, Lee, and Dan Stovall; sister-in-law, Dorothy Pool; cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear and loving friends.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at the Vermillion Presbyterian Church in Dakota City at the Dakota County Fair Grounds, Farmington, with memorial visitation from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the White Funeral Home, 901 3rd St., Farmington, and also 1 hour prior to service at church. Private interment Greenwood Cemetery.
