Storytime for all ages
There will be a storytime for all ages from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Nov. 30 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. Storytime features stories and activities ideal for mixed-age groups. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Downtown Dazzle Day, the Farmington Business Association’s annual community holiday celebration, will take place Dec. 1 in downtown Farmington. There will be special events and visits from Santa at several locations in Farmington.
Decorate the Farmington holiday tree
Farmington residents can make ornaments to decorate the community holiday tree from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The event is sponsored by the Dakota Valley Arts Council and is open to all ages. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Visit with Santa
Kids can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Farmington VFW. Kids can have their picture taken with Santa and leave with a can of soda and a bag of goodies. The VFW is located at 420 Third St.
Gingerbread house contest and display
Enter your gingerbread house in the Farmington Library’s contest and display it from 2 to 3 p.m. Dec. 1. Registration information is available at the library, 508 Third St.
The Farmington Knights of Columbus Council 2400 will hold a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 2 at the Church of St. Michael, 22120 Denmark Ave. Money raised will go to a variety of causes in need of assistance.
Trinity Care Center will hold a holiday boutique from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 in the facility’s great room, 3410 213th St. W. There will be blankets, baked goods, wall hangings, jewelry, pet goods, doll clothes and more for sale. For information call 651-460-1166.
Christmas in the Village
Visitors can experience a turn-of-the-century holiday at the annual Christmas in the Village event the first two weekends in December at Dakota City Heritage Village. The event will take place from 1 to 8 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 and Dec. 8 and 9. Trees will be lighted inside and outside the decorated buildings in the 1900-era village. Visitors can board horse drawn trolleys for a tour and listen to Christmas carols in the church. Wii games at the library
Teens can play Nintendo Wii games like Bowling, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Just Dance from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Books & Beyond: Gingerbread Houses
Hear a story and decorate a gingerbread house from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 6 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The session is for children up to 6 years old. Reservations are required. For more information call the library at 651-438-0250.
