Public gospel meeting

Saturday
Pop-out books at the library
Fold, cut and transform a sheet of paper into a pop-out with the Minnesota Center for Book Arts from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 8 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The session is for kids ages 5 to 8. Registration is required. For more information call 612-460-7725.
Ladies only pool tournament
There will be a women’s pool tournament Dec. 8 at Farmington Billiards. Sign-in starts at 11 and play starts at noon. For more information call Dan at 612-226-7665.
Sunday
Omelet breakfast
The Farmington Sons of the American Legion will hold the monthly omelet breakfast fundraiser from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Dec. 9, at Tailgater’s. The all-you-can-eat menu includes a build-your-own omelet, cheesy potatoes, toast, fruit and juice or coffee. Proceeds from the breakfast will go to SAL and its projects.
Cookie walk
There will be a cookie walk fundraiser to benefit the Farmington Yellow Ribbon Network from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 9 at Rambling River Center. Bring two plates of cookies or holiday treats and $5 to participate. Cash donations support Yellow Ribbon Network military family programs. To donate cookies call Kara at 651-463-2148.
Skate with Santa
The city of Farmington’s Learn to Skate program will hold Skate with Santa event at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at Schmitz-Maki Arena. Enjoy games, prizes and pictures with Santa. With a second food shelf donation participants are eligible to win an iPod Shuffle.
Weekend
Christmas in the Village
Visitors can experience a turn-of-the-century holiday at the annual Christmas in the Village event at Dakota City Heritage Village. The event will take place from 1 to 8 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9. Trees will be lighted inside and outside the decorated buildings in the 1900-era village. Visitors can board horse drawn trolleys for a tour and listen to Christmas carols in the church. Choir concert
Farmington Lutheran Church will host Farmington High School’s New Dimension Choir at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 12. The choir will lead an assortment of Christmas carols during a Wednesday night worship service. For information call the church office at 651-463-4100.
