Farmington came out on top in the “36 seconds of Talent” exhibition at Saturday’s Faribault Invitational.
The goal of the special event was “to wow the crowd with any talent or skit you could come up with,” according to Farmington coach Lynn Bauman. The Tigers performed a circus act that featured a ringmaster, an elephant, a tiger, clowns and monkeys.
The Tigers finished in the middle of the pack in the regular portion of the meet, placing ninth out of 17 teams with 133.05 points.
Kiana Lord led the team to its highest point total of the year in the uneven bars with a ninth-place score of 8.9. She also scored an 8.55 in the vault, an 8.45 in the floor exercise and an 8.5 in the beam for an all-around score of 33.95.
Tahra Eckert led the Tigers in the all-around with a 34.3. Eckert scored an 8.75 in the vault, an 8.65 in the beam, an 8.5 in the floor exercise and an 8.4 in the bars.
Kathryn Beckett supplied the team’s lone 9.0 score in the floor exercise and earned an 8.7 in the vault. Maddie Timerson added an 8.5 in the vault.
“I still have high hopes for our team this year,” Bauman said. “We have lots of potential. I believe our score will continue to rise now as we begin to grow stronger as a team.”
The Tigers have their first two home meets of the season this week. They hosted New Prague on Tuesday and are back at the Instructional Services Center Saturday for the Farmington Invitational.
