Farmington has one more recreational opportunity available now at the Dodge Middle School Pool. Colm Griffin, aquatics coordinator at the pool, recently announced the addition of an Aquaclimb climbing wall.
“The climbing wall will be a physical and fun activity for physical education students at Dodge and Boeckman Middle School and an added amenity for our open swims and birthday parties,” Griffin said.
The pool at Dodge Middle School has become a popular community activity for children and families in the past few years as open swim hours have expanded and party opportunities have become available.
Farmington Community Education facilitates the use of the pool for Middle School physical education classes, swim lessons, community use and swim team practices and meets.
“Community education programming revenue was reinvested to provide this added value and amenity to the community pool,” Griffin said. “We are excited to see how the kids and community respond to this — we have heard great reports from other pool facilities that have added climbing walls. Not only is it fun and recreational but it builds stamina and self-confidence.”
The pool is located at Dodge Middle School, 4200 208th Street West, Farmington, Minn. More information is available at 651-460-3200 or online at www.farmingtonce.com.
