Mildred "Milly" Yess, age 84, of Waseca, died on Friday, Feb. 8, at the Janesville Nursing Home.
Born on Dec. 5, 1928, in Waseca County, Minn., she was the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Jeseritz) Holtz. She graduated from Waseca High School in 1946. Milly married Marvin Yess on April 20, 1947. She worked for 16 years at Herter's Inc. in Waseca and 10 years at Waseca Mutual Insurance.
She enjoyed knitting, reading, puzzles, and gardening. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca. Milly was also a hospice and Stephens Ministry volunteer. She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries in Waseca.
Milly is survived by three children, Carolyn (Randy) Sjogren of Farmington, Cynthia Yess and special friend Pauline Fligge of Rochester, and Curtis (Deb) Yess of Waseca; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandchildren, Jason and Jacob Yess; one brother, Lester Holtz; and one sister, Arlene Kropf.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca, and will continue for 1 hour before the funeral service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. John Omans officiating. Burial will follow at Wilton Cemetery.
