ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Farmington, Minnesota, in the City Hall at 430 Third Street, until 10 A.M., C.D.S.T., Thursday, March 14, 2013, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all labor, materials, and all else necessary for the following:

Trunk Highway 3 East Frontage Road Sanitary Replacement Project

In general, Work consists of the following approximate quantities:

520LF 8 Inch PVC Sanitary Sewer

2EA 4 Foot Diameter Sanitary Manholes

370CYCommon Excavation

430CYSelect Granular Borrow - Modified

525TNClass 5 Aggregate Base

215TNBituminous Mixtures

100LFConcrete Curb and Gutter

Together with removals, erosion control, utility services, fittings, miscellaneous concrete flatwork, seeding, and other related appurtenances

This project is subject to Prevailing Wages and, as such, Bidders will need to adhere to Minnesota State Statutes 177.41-44.

Bidding Documents may be purchased for a fee of $75 (for a paper copy), or a fee of $20 (for a digital copy on compact disc). Bidders may purchase either copy of the Bidding Documents from the City of Farmington, 430 Third Street, Farmington, MN 55024 by cash or with a check. Bidding Documents may be viewed at the City of Farmington as well.

Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the amount of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

The Owner reserves the right to retain the deposits of the 3 lowest Bidders for a period not to exceed

60 days after the date and time set for the Opening of Bids. No Bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date and time set for the Opening of Bids.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein, and further reserves the right to award the Contract to the best interests of the Owner.
