Local singer-songwriter Lowie Rutten will perform light acoustic music from 8 to 10 p.m. March 8 at Dunn Bros. Coffee in Farmington. Dunn Bros. is located at 20700 Chippendale Ave.

Omelet breakfast
The Farmington Sons of the American Legion will hold their monthly omelet breakfast fundraiser at Tailgaters this Sunday, March 10, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Proceeds from the all-you-can-eat, build-your-own-omelet meal will benefit SAL and its projects.

Book and puzzle sale
Faith United Methodist Church will hold a book and puzzle sale from 4 to 7 p.m. March 8 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9. Proceeds will go to the Farmington Food Shelf and the Farmington Veterans Memorial. The church is located at 701 Eighth St.
St. Michael’s Parish Mission
St. Michael’s Catholic Church will hold its 2013 parish mission March 9-12 The mission will include a youth mass at 4:30 p.m. March 9, a concert at 7 p.m. March 10, a presentation on living your faith in the real world from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 11 and a presentation titled “When God Says No” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 12. Storytime for babies
The Dakota County Farmington Library will hold a storytime for babies from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. March 7. Storytime includes stories, songs, bounces and playtime. The library is located at 508 Third St.

The Dakota County Farmington Library will offer a storytime for all ages from 10:30 to 11 a.m. March 8. Storytime includes stories and activities ideal for a mixed-age audience such a childcare group. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Teen Advisory Group
The Dakota County Farmington Library’s teen advisory group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. March 11 at the library. The TAG recommends books and music, helps plan library programs and participates in community events and service projects. The group is open to ages 12 to 18. The Farmington library is located at 508 Third St.
From Fiber to Yarn
Participants can learn about alpacas, shearing and carding the fiber from 7 to 8 p.m. March 12 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. Class includes spinning demonstrations and hands-on use of a spinning wheel and drop spindles. Presented by artists Pat Robertson and Tracy Crofoot. The library is located at 508 Third St.
