Area township voters will go to the polls Tuesday to elect representatives to their respective boards of supervisors.
Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Empire, Eureka and Castle Rock town halls.
Longtime board member Jamie Elvestad is running unopposed for Empire Township’s only available board seat.
The annual meeting for Empire Township will begin following the close of Tuesday’s elections.
In Castle Rock, Russ Zellmer runs unopposed for a three year term for the position of Supervisor, Seat A. Incumbent David Nicolai is being challenged in his bid for reelection as Supervisor Seat B, also a three-year term, by candidate Jeff Partington.
Castle Rock voters will also be asked to vote on whether the township clerk’s position should be elected or appointed. The position is currently elected.
While the agenda for Castle Rock’s annual meeting is still in the works, the meeting will begin at 8:30 p.m. Residents can expect to hear committee reports, the 2013 budget report and results of the election during the annual meeting.
Eureka Township also has a contested race for one of its supervisor seats. Incumbent Kenneth Miller is being challenged by Nancy Sauber for the Supervisor, Seat 5 position.
