Rotary banquet
University of Minnesota athletic director will speak at the Farmington Rotary’s sixth anniversary dinner May 22. The dinner will include recognition for students and community members.

Computer class
The Dakota County Farmington Library will offer a Beyond Computer Basics class from 10 a.m. to noon May 24. Participants with a basic knowledge of computers will learn how to work with files or folders, how to print and how to maintain computers. Classes are free but require registration. Memorial Day services
Memorial Day services will be observed at 2 p.m. May 25 at Castle Rock Valley Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Roos of First Presbyterian Church will be the speaker. The Farmington American Legion and VFW posts will give the military tribute.

Blood drive
St. Michael’s Catholic Church will host a Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 7 p.m. May 27. For an appointment call Marlene at 651-460-6083.
Free movie showing
Hadler Family Chiropractic will host a free preview of the documentary The Business of Being Born at 7 p.m. May 27. The clinic is located at 625 Eighth St.
The documentary ask whether births should be treated as a natural life process or as a potential medical emergency. It premiered at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival. For more information go to www.thebusinessofbeingborn.com.
Book club meeting
Farmington Friends of the Library book club meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of every month at the Dakota County Library in Farmington. The book for this month’s meeting is Road from Coorain by Jil Ker Conway. For more information call the library at 651-438-0250.

Diabetes support group
A diabetes support group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Allina Medical Clinic in Farmington. The group meets on the last Thursday of every month. The topic for May is Having Fun and Diabetes, Too.

Spirit Bound performance
Spirit Bound, a 52-member musical/drama group consisting of adults and high school students, will perform at the 8:30 and 10 a.m. services June 1 at Farmington Lutheran Church.
