None of Farmington's six representatives managed to make it past the second round of competition at last Thursday's Section 1AA Individual Tournament at Red Wing.
No. 1 singles player Seth Roberts was the only Tiger entrant to make it past the first round, opening with a three-set victory over Faribault's No. 1, 6-7 (6), 6-1, 6-1. Unfortunately for Roberts, he was dealt a matchup with Century's third-ranked Eric Frueh, who dealt him a 0-6, 0-6 setback.
Farmington's No. 2 player was also knocked out by a Century opponent as Tony Lovaas was handed another 0-6, 0-6 setback.
The doubles team of Joe Feely and Micah Hakala gave Century a scare, serving for the first set after trailing 1-4, but eventually fell, 5-7, 2-6.
"Unfortunately, the wheels came off right about then and Century seized their chance to regain control of the match," Farmington coach Jack Olwell said. "There were times in the match where Joe Feely completely dominated play."
The other Farmington doubles team of Nico Uchytil and Ryan Fruechte also played well in stretches, but fell to Faribault's second-seeded doubles team, 1-6, 2-6.
