An 83-year-old woman died July 7 from injuries sustained in a two-car accident in Castle Rock.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol’s incident report, Ursalla K. Hoppe died after the 2007 Buick she was riding in was broadsided at the intersection of Highway 3 and 280th Street. The vehicle she was in was driven by her 75-year-old husband, Ronald F. Hoppe of Clarendon Hills, Ill.
The Hoppes were traveling eastbound on 280th Street. The car pulled out onto HIghway 3 and was broadsided by a 2002 Ford van driven by 55-year-old Robert J. Shaw of Faribault.
Ronald Hoppe received minor injuries. Shaw was transported to the Northfield Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the State Patrol’s report. Seatbelts were worn by all three individuals, and all had airbags that deployed in the accident.
