As many as three Farmington garages will be open July 18-19 to raise money for the family of Ian Henderson. Ian, a Burnsville resident, was diagnosed May 23 with an inoperable brain tumor. The sale will be held at 1218 Spruce Street.

Bluegrass in the Park
The River Community Church of Farmington will host the Hartley Family at 10 a.m. July 20 at Rambling River Park. All are welcome. The seven-member bluegrass band has been playing together since mid-2004. They have played their mix of hard-driving and old-time bluegrass and bluegrass-style gospel in festivals, churches, state parks and at schools and special events.

King’s Kids Camp
Kids in grades 1-3 can attend King’s Kids Day Camp July 21-24 at Mount Olivet Retreat Center. Campers participate in four days of activities including Bible stories, crafts, music, nature projects, swimming, worship and games. For registration information call the retreat center at 952-469-2175.

There will be a community meal at 5:30 p.m. July 24 at Farmington Lutheran Church, 22120 Akin Road, Farmington. The meal is free but a free will offering is accepted. All are welcome. The Farmington Parks and Recreation Department will hold its second annual Party on the Knoll from 1 to 3:30 p.m. July 30 at Evergreen Knoll Park, 626 Heritage Way, next to the municipal pool. The free event will include swimming, music, make-and-take art projects, games and fun for the family. There will be a pancake breakfast fund-raiser for Trinity Care Center from 8 to 10 a.m. at Applebees in Lakeville.

The Farmington Downtown Business Association will host a motorcycle ride-in night from 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 16. Third Street will be reserved for motorcycles and there will be food, raffles, contests and musical entertainment. This monthly event will run through September.

There will be a steak fry fund-raiser for Trinity Care Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday Aug. 16 at the Farmington VFW.
