Raiders place sixth at Don Saatzer invite

Finally, the Hastings boys golf team is enjoying some nice weather. Monday was certainly the highlight of the season thus far for the Raiders, who competed at their annual Don Saatzer Invitational. Hastings placed sixth out of 21 teams at the meet with a score of 319.The meet is held at the Hastings Country Club.

When the Hastings boys lacrosse team took the field for its game on April 25 against Woodbury, it was just the second time all season that the Raiders were outside. The season was fours week old, but the poor weather this spring meant the team had to stay indoors for all but one day of that.

Monday’s snowstorm was the perfect opportunity for Sarah Foster to update a photo from her baby book

As a curious 3-year-old, Sarah Foster’s parents didn’t need to prod her much to go play in the snow. Even in late April. So, after a freak snowstorm on April 28, 1994, there she was, running around in the family’s Hastings backyard near what was then Tilden Elementary. One of her parents gave her a sign that simply read: “April 28, 1994. It’s snowing.”

Tennis team wins opening match over Park, 4-3

A great performance in doubles helped the Hastings boys tennis team earn a win in its first match of the season. Hastings swept all three doubles positions to beat Park on April 16, 4-3.
