A minor collision between a pickup and a power pole in the town of Kinnickinnic resulted in a widespread power outage for thousands across a wide swath of western Wisconsin Sunday night.

River Falls takes second punch in two days of storms

River Falls received less rain but more wind in its second straight night of heavy thunderstorms early Tuesday. Wind gusts of 50-60 mph toppled limbs and at least a dozen trees around town. Rainfall total for the two nights measured 2.56 inches on the southeast side of town.

Spring Valley woman hurt in rollover east of River Falls

A Spring Valley woman was transported to Regions Hospital by helicopter from the scene of a one-car rollover early Tuesday evening. The crash occurred just east of Saddle Club Road. A Regions spokeswoman said Thursday morning she had no record of Barbara Abledeinger being a patient, implying that she had been discharged Wednesday.

A River Falls woman died and an Amery man was seriously injured early Sunday when their SUV left Hwy. 29 and rolled through a hayfield east of River Falls. The rollover injury crash is the third in three days within a few miles of River Falls city limits.
