The Farmington girls swimming and diving team beat Red Wing for the first time ever last season. The wait for victory No. 2 over the Wingers wasn’t nearly as long. Boys soccer: Improvement shows in first loss
The Farmington boys soccer team looked vastly improved from a season ago when it scored a combined 10 goals to open the 2010 season with back-to-back wins. Even stronger evidence for the Tigers’ improvement may have come in its first loss of the season Thursday night when it fell 2-1 in overtime to a Winona team that rolled to an 8-0 victory in last year’s meeting.The Farmington Independent, 09/08/2010
Volleyball: Passing struggles at South
There’s nothing like a quality opponent to help a coach evaluate his own team’s weaknesses. Eighth-ranked (Class 3A) Lakeville South did just that for Farmington head coach Mike Woody Thursday night. Fifth-ranked (Class 2A) Eagan got all it could handle from Farmington last Thursday afternoon. Cross country: Runners open with Dakota Classic
The Farmington boys finished fifth and the girls sixth at the season-opening Dakota Classic cross country meet Friday in Eagan. The boys scored 149 points, placing them two ahead of Missota Conference rival New Prague.
