Boys hockey: Tigers lose, tie in opening week
The Farmington boys hockey team is starting the 2011-12 season with games against six straight Section 1AA opponents. The Tigers are hoping wins will be easier to come by in the next four than they were in the first two. After skating to a 2-2 tie against an equally inexperienced Rochester John Marshall team in last Tuesday’s season opener, the Tigers allowed four straight goals in an eventual 6-2 loss to Rochester Century back at Schmitz-Maki Arena Thursday.By: Matt Steichen, The Farmington Independent
