Wedding announcements: Jensen-Whyte

Annabelle Rose Jensen and Matthew Andrew Whyte were married Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Cedar Lodge Settlement in the Wisconsin Dells. The bride is the daughter of Paul and Christine Jensen of Reedsburg, Wis. Grandparents of the bride are Rosemary Krueger and Phillip and Jeanette Jensen, all of Springfield, Minn. The groom is the son of Kari and Jerry Ervin of Edina, and Jeff and Ranae Whyte of Farmington. Grandparents of the groom are Berenice Quernemoen of Webster, Wis., and Marquerite Whyte and Tony Huebner of Oceanside, Calif. The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Annette Jensen. Bridesmaids were the bride’s cousins, Candice Krueger, Stephanie Jensen, and Casey Jo Rice, and friends of the couple, Tara Lusterman and Allison Wells. The flower girls were Adeline Whyte, niece of the groom, Madison DeMorett, goddaughter of the bride, and Annemarie Jensen, cousin of the bride. The best man was the groom’s brother, Jordan Whyte. Groomsmen were Dave Wilcox, Dan Wilcox, Joe Rademacher, Curt St. John and John Oehlenschlager, friends of the couple. Ushers were Lance Schottenbauer, cousin of the bride, and Caleb See, cousin of the groom. Personal attendants for the bride were her cousin, Kelsey Krueger and friend of the couple, Amber Groskreutz. The groom’s personal attendant was a friend of the couple, Amy Leighton. The ceremony was officiated by Howard Nielsen. The couple honeymooned in Riviera, Mexico

Quentin Christopher Schepers was born to Peter and Lindsey Schepers on Aug. 2, 2010, at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville. At birth, he weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces and was 22 inches long. Proud grandparents are Shawn and Lori Mulhern of Rosemount and Jim and Linda Schepers of Apple Valley.

Army Pvt. Andrew D. Young has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. The training consists of Basic Infantry Training and Advanced Individual Training. During the nine weeks of basic combat training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons employment, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid skills, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experienced use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman. The Advanced Individual Training course is designed to train infantry soldiers to perform reconnaissance operations; employ, fire and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines; locate and neutralize land mines and operate target and sight equipment; operate and maintain communications equipment and radio networks; construct field firing aids for infantry weapons; and perform infantry combat exercises and dismounted battle drills, which includes survival procedures in a nuclear, biological or chemical contaminated area. He is the son of Melissa Grassmann of Farmington and is a 2007 graduate of Farmington High School.

Arnold and Annette Zach of Lakeville, formerly of Farmington, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in August. The couple was married Dec, 18, 1970, in Wayne, Neb. They have three children and five grandchildren. The family will celebrate the Zach’s anniversary with an Aug. 21 reception at the VFW Post 210 in Lakeville, from 2-4 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
