Kay Francis (Summers) Mayes passed away peacefully Feb. 19, 2010, in Kingfisher, Okla., at the age of 65. She had been battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma for two years.
Kay was born Oct. 8, 1944, to Leo and Mary Summers in Farmington, Minn.
She married Richard Wieland and had two children. They later divorced and she moved to New Jersey with Don Mayes. They married, and had a daughter, and raised all three children. In 1984, Kay, Don, and Dawn moved to Oklahoma. Kay worked with her husband at his locksmith business as a bookkeeper.
She is survived by her husband of forty years, Don; three children, son Michael (Carla) Wieland of New Jersey, daughter Brenda (Bill) Griffith of New Jersey, and daughter Dawn (Scott) Maschino of Oklahoma; also, three grandchildren. Kay has one sister, Mary Ann Lattimore of Northfield, Minn. and brother, Donald (Donna) Summers of Wildwood, Fla. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Federated Church of Kingfisher, Okla.
