Kyle Kratz, a sophomore this year at Farmington High School, is using his Eagle Scout project to complete work started by Gale Sprute to recognize the emergency workers who died in the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The Tigers couldn’t muster the offense to rally in a 7-5 loss to Rochester Century Friday night at Tiger Stadium. A day later the team put together a furious three-goal rally late to tie the score against Burnsville only to have the Blaze secure the victory with a goal in the final 30 seconds.

A 4-3 eight-inning loss to Eastview was the only blemish on a 5-1 week for the Farmington VFW baseball team. Post 7662 bounced back from the opening-round loss to Eastview at the Eagan tournament, defeating Holy Angels, Minneapolis Southwest and host Eagan to win the consolation championship.
