Cigarette sparked Friday fire on Highway 3
One lit cigarette caused approximately $100,000 in damage when it caused a Castle Rock house fire Friday night. Farmington firefighters were called to a house on the 22400 block of Chippendale Avenue/Highway 3 just after 8 p.m. Friday, on the report of a house fire. When they arrived at the home, firefighters found the front of the house ablaze.

Monday night fire destroys Farmington home
A late night fire Monday destroyed a Farmington house and left the owner and his new roommate without a place to live. Farmington fire marshal John Powers is still investigating the cause of the blaze, which started outside the home at 18524 Dunbury Knoll just before 11:30 p.m. Monday. The home’s owner, Jaysen T. Smith, told Powers he was in his bedroom when he heard something outside.
