Rambling River Park is a hot spot this week. Water spilled over from the Vermillion River into the park, and on Tuesday, dozens of kids and adults were playing in the water. The only problem is, the park is closed for safety reasons.

Bouncing through the trees at Dakota Woods Dog Park, the sun beams off of Lucy’s golden fur. Lucy and her owner, Deborah Lindberg, are regulars at the off-leash dog park in Empire Township, and on a warm Monday morning the two are out for a stroll.

Former Farmington parks and recreation director Jim Bell remembers well negotiating the purchase of a large chunk of parkland north of 195th Street, and he remembers the trees that had to be cleared so a pair of ponds could be constructed there, too. He planned the trail system near those ponds, and now all of Farmington can remember his contributions every time they use those trails.
