Farmington man is racing on the biggest stage
Farmington NASCAR fans are in for a treat next month. It’s not every day they get to cheer for a hometown boy racing at Daytona International Speedway. But this year, local fans will have a new favorite on the track, because Farmington’s Adam Royle has already locked up a spot in the University of Northwestern Ohio Battle At The Beach, set for Feb. 18-19 at Daytona.

Kristine Benjamin crossed “Run a Marathon” off her bucket list Sunday when she and about 11,999 other runners participated in the Twin Cities Marathon. And while she was probably not the only first-time runner in the pack, Benjamin was likely one of the few who has asthma and is a carrier for a rare lung disease commonly known as Alpha 1.

Fogarty, Slavik win in county board primary
Farmington City Council member Christy Jo Forgarty will advance to the general election in the race to become Dakota County Commissioner for District 1. Fogarty finished second in Tuesday’s primary election with 25.1 percent of the vote. She will face off in November against Hastings resident Mike Slavik, who received 41.75 percent of the vote.
