Council will approve Farmington's 2013 budget, levy Monday
This year, the Farmington 2013 proposed budget and levy is wrapped up and ready for council approval, which should happen at the Dec. 3 regular city council meeting. As it will be presented Monday, the city’s 2013 proposed general fund tax levy is $8,718,968, a 1.79 percent increase over the approved 2012 general fund tax levy. That is down from the preliminary tax levy of $8,808,865 approved by the Farmington City Council in September.

ISD 192 school levy continues to decline
The Farmington School Board approved a 2013 property tax levy Monday that continues a trend of declining tax bills for district residents. The $18,918,152 levy approved Monday is a reduction of $97,522 from the levy the district approved last year. The levy is also $370,995 less than the preliminary levy approved in September.

After months of tweaking and redefining priorities, the Farmington City Council has received a final 2013 budget and property tax breakdown. The final proposal, brought by city administrator David McKnight during a Monday night budget workshop, shows a net tax levy of $8,718,968 for 2013.
