Farmington Veterans Memorial is coming soon
After decades of talking and generations of planning, Farmington is finally going to get a Veterans Memorial. And the community will get it sooner rather than later.

Committee breaks ground on veterans' memorial
Farmington is officially on its way to the construction of a veterans' memorial. Members of the committee that has been planning the project, which will be located in Rambling River Park, turned ceremonial shovels of dirt at 2 p.m. Friday to get the project under way. The plan is to have construction of at least the first phase of the project completed by Memorial Day next year.

David and Jonathan Bovee are only a year apart, and they have a lot of the same interests. They compete together on the Farmington High School swim team. They even finish each other’s sentences. They have been in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts together for much of their lives, so maybe it makes sense that when it came time to go after the highest honor the Scouts have to offer they are doing that together, too.

Farmington Veterans of Foreign Wars Sypal-Lundgren Post 7662 commander Ron Ersfeld summed up the 2012 Patriotic Day celebration in three simple words: “pretty jam-packed.” And he was right. VFW commander has a vision of flags lining Farmington's streets
Between now and next week, Farmington Veterans of Foreign Wars Sypal-Lundgren Post 7662 commander Ron Ersfeld hopes to collect enough donations to fund the purchase of 72 U.S. flags.
