It’s time for those who want to raise fresh eggs to get their chickens in a row, or at least start construction on a new coop. On a 4-0 vote Monday, the Farmington City Council approved a new ordinance allowing residents to keep chickens on properties that are at least 10,000 square feet.

The CapX2020 utilities have started construction on the estimated $500 million, 150-mile Hampton-Rochester-La Crosse 345 kilovolt project. The first segment under construction is the 16-mile 161 kV line between a new north Rochester substation near Pine Island and the existing Northern Hills Substation in northwest Rochester.
