New Gay-Straight Alliance takes a stand at FHS
The whole thing was a little weird at first for Marcello Hunter. His girlfriend, Kelsey Sharpe, has two moms, and he really didn’t know how to process that. Kelsey’s moms, Kim Sharpe and Lisa La Rosa, get that. So does Kelsey. But it’s okay, too, because Hunter is not alone in his experience, and that’s why they’re all members of Farmington High School’s Gay-Straight Alliance.

Book Report: A new Scandinavian thriller takes the stage
I’m way behind in my coverage of the Scandinavian thriller surge in world publishing, not having even read a Stieg Larsson thriller, so I’ll try to make it up by reviewing a finely wrought thriller by first-time Swedish author Alexander Soderberg. It’s “The Andalucian Friend,” (Crown, $26), translated by Neil Smith.

Farmington man is in business for the birds
For most people, a freezer full of dead birds means there will be plenty of duck for dinner. For Eric Katzenmeyer, it means practice. Since October, Katzenmeyer has been fine-tuning his taxidermy skills in preparation for the launch of Taking Flight Taxidermy.

Owen Clark has never been a trophy hunter, but he’s making an exception for the deer he shot last Saturday. The Farmington resident is used to shooting whitetail, but this one was a little different. It was white all over. Clark shot the albino deer while hunting with his sons on farmland south of Isle.
