Owatonna’s opening goal seemed to wake up the Farmington boys hockey team last Thursday night. After the Huskies broke a scoreless tie early in the second period, the Tigers piled up eight unanswered goals in an 8-1 rout of their Section 1AA rivals at Schmitz-Maki Arena.

It didn’t take the Farmington boys hockey team long to shake off its season-opening loss to Hastings. The Tigers rebounded with a pair of road wins over section opponents last week in Rochester, first edging Rochester John Marshall 4-3 on Tuesday and then rolling to their first-ever victory over Rochester Century by a 6-0 count last Thursday at the Rochester Recreation Center.
