For a few of Farmington’s police officers, keeping the peace doesn’t stop at the community’s borders. Farmington police chief Brian Lindquist and officers Cassie Johnson, Steve Kuyper and Jason Amundson are putting in a few extra hours now through Labor Day. They’re all working public safety at the Minnesota State Fair.

Police see rash of thefts from cars
Farmington residents might want to remember to lock their car doors. Police have seen a rash of thefts from cars since Aug. 4. In the course of about a week and a half there have been at least 20 reported cases of items being stolen from cars. The first wave of incidents was reported Aug. 5 and 6. The second was reported Aug. 10, mainly in the downtown area east of Highway 3.
