I heard something on the radio the other day, and I have to say, it disturbs me quite a bit. Apparently, there is now an app that parents can get on their smartphones or iPads or what have you, that will read the popular children’s book, “Goodnight Moon,” to kids. For a mere $4.99, you can purchase the app and let the computer do the talking. Literally.

North Trail Elementary School Giving Tree stands tall
North Trail Elementary School students and staff are getting that holiday giving spirit, and just in time, too. From now through Friday, Dec. 14, North Trail Elementary will collect gifts of toys for Farmington’s Toys for Town gift drive through its new project, the Giving Tree. Set up in the school lobby, the tree serves as the drop-off point for any toys students or staff would like to donate.

Farmington community gathers to thank its Veterans
Farmington Veterans of Foreign Wars Sypal-Lundgren Post 7662 commander Ron Ersfeld summed up the 2012 Patriotic Day celebration in three simple words: “pretty jam-packed.” And he was right. More than 1,200 free dinners of pork chops and mashed potatoes were served during the Nov. 1 event, and all 800 seats in the recital hall at Farmington High School were filled.
