New program aims to ease sixth graders' transition to middle school
Sixth grade can be a pretty scary year, but a new program in Farmington’s middle schools aims to make that transition easier. Called Where Everyone Belongs, the program is designed to ease the transition from elementary to middle school. It seems to have worked well in other districts, because it is widely used around the state and throughout the nation, Dodge Middle School principal Chris Busmann said.

Program to cut power use has meant savings for Farmington schools
Farmington Schools have reduced electrical use by 10 percent and cut natural gas and oil consumption by 4 percent under a three-year plan coordinated by Schools For Energy Efficiency, avoiding $319,863 in costs over the period.
