City of Farmington's budget shrinks from preliminary figure
After months of tweaking and redefining priorities, the Farmington City Council has received a final 2013 budget and property tax breakdown. The final proposal, brought by city administrator David McKnight during a Monday night budget workshop, shows a net tax levy of $8,718,968 for 2013. Column: Can we demand a recount?
I’ve never been a particularly political person. I vote, obviously, and I know that an electoral college is. But I don’t obsess over things like polls or swing states or knowing who half of the people on my ballot actually are.

Election season hits high gear
By late this week, it’s a pretty good bet city of Farmington executive assistant Cindy Muller will be ready for a nice, quiet few days off. Because truth be told, she’s been pretty busy around city hall these days. Not only does Muller have to worry about things like attending city council meetings and workshops, but she’s had plenty to do on top of that the past few weeks. She’s got an election to run.

Letter: Opponent’s accusations were inaccurate, mayor says
This letter is in response to last week’s letter to the editor from Dave Pritzlaff. Although Mr. Pritzlaff has admitted to some bad math when it comes to when he was a member of the Farmington City Council (2004-2008) he has not corrected the mistake on the flyers he is handing out or on his website. I have been mayor from 2009 until present; I have never missed a city council meeting, EDA meeting or any council workshops.

For more than an hour, band members and sheriff’s deputies, firefighters and Boy Scouts traced a parade route around an Empire Township neighborhood, part of a Make-A-Wish gift that just kept growing.

Farmington’s housing market is turning around
To look at the latest numbers of new construction building permits, it would seem that Farmington’s housing market is still in a slump. The truth is it’s on its way back up, slowly but surely.

Farmington mayoral candidate's math error led to inaccurate claim
Last week, mayoral candidate David Pritzlaff mailed campaign material to homes and businesses around Farmington. In it, he claims to have been “acting Mayor of Farmington fifty percent of the year in 2009.” And while it is true that he did serve as acting mayor during his term as a Farmington city council member, Pritzlaff was not in office in 2009.
