Char and Mike Wilson announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelly, to Matt Thelen, son of Mary Jo and Dan Thelen. Shelly is employed as a special education teacher at New Prague High School. Matt is employed at Farmington Plumbing and Heating. The couple will be married Oct. 1, 2011, in Farmington. They plan to make their home in Farmington. Ashleigh Handorff and Bryan Hegseth announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. Ashleigh is the daughter of Mike and Shelley Bartizal of Farmington. She graduated from Farmington High School in 2006 and the University of Wisconsin-EauClaire in 2011, with a degree in kinesiology. Bryan is the son of Sid and Norrie Hegseth of Farmington. He graduated from Farmington High School in 2006 and the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2010, with a degree in business. He is a sales representative for Grainger in St. Cloud. A July 30, 2011 wedding is planned at Farmington Lutheran Church in Farmington with a reception following at the Oaks room in the Eagan Community Center.

Engagement: Strohmeyer-Humerickhouse

Dan and Jane Strohmeyer of Manhattan, Kan., and Rex and Beth Humerickhouse of Farmington announce the engagement of their children, Andrea (AJ) Strohmeyer and Rex (Tres) Humerickhouse. AJ graduated from Manhattan Senior High School in Kansas and is a 2009 graduate of Hamline University with a degree in Psychology. Tres graduated from Woodcreek High School in Roseville, Calif., after attending Farmington High School. He graduated from Hamline University in December of 2010 with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. A July, 2011 wedding at Peace Plaza in Rochester, is planned.

Emma Lynne Kierski and Jeffrey Alan Taverna have announced their engagement. Emma is the daughter of Robert and Angela Kierski of Farmington. She is a 2004 graduate of Farmington High School and a 2005 graduate of Scot Lewis Beauty School. She is employed at Cifelli’s Salon and Spa in Apple Valley. The son of Mark and Karen Taverna of Eagan, Jeffrey is a 2003 graduate of Eastview High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. He is employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, in Eagan. An Aug. 6, 2011 wedding is planned at Mount Calvary Lutherena Church in Eagan.

Randall and Teri Petrash of Farmington announce the engagement of their daughter, Darcy, to Race Vidman, son of Robert and Meredith Vidman of Colchester, Conn., formerly of Apple Valley. Darcy is a 2003 graduate of Farmington High School and a 2007 graduate of Hamline University. She is working on a teaching degree in social studies. Race is a 2002 graduate of Eastview High School. Darcy and Race will be married at the Fort Snelling Chapel in St. Paul on July 23, 2011. The reception will follow at Royal Cliff in Eagan.

A May 21, 2011 wedding is planned at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Lakeville.

Jennifer Kassa, daughter of Gary and Nancy Kassa of Farmington, is engaged to James Jones, son of Ed and Jimman Cozzen of Lake Bronson, Minn., and James and Debbie Jones of Idaho. Jenni is a 1996 graduate of Farmington High School. She attended Bemidji State University, where she earned a degree in psychology. James is a graduate from Wahpeton Collage and Dakota County Technical College. He works as a mechanic and welder for CAT. An Oct. 23, 2010 wedding is planned at St. Michael’s Church in Farmington.

Engagement: Girgen-Schultz

Melisa Girgen, daughter of Joseph and Susan Girgen of Rosemount, and Vincent Schultz III, son of Kay and Vincent Schultz of Plymouth, announce their engagement. The couple became engaged Christmas Eve 2009, when Vince surprised Melisa with an engagement ring in their new home in Farmington just hours after the closing. They met November 2006 just one month before graduating from college. Melisa is a 2006 graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Madison and a 2009 graduate of The George Washington University with a masters of science in health science. She is currently working as a physician assistant in Eagan. Vince is a 2006 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in economics and political science. He is currently working in financial services and will be starting school next fall to obtain his MBA and masters in accounting. The couple will be married on Oct. 2, 2010 at the Catholic church of St. Joseph in Rosemount.

David and Heidi Macias of Farmington are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lydia Macias to Matthew Kojetin, son of Leanne Kojetin of Rosemount and the late Paul Kojetin. Lydia is a 2005 graduate of Rosemount High School and received her cosmetology license from Regency Institute in 2007. She is currently employed as a stylist at Salon Rox in Minneapolis. Matthew is a 2005 graduate of Rosemount High School and received his degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota in 2009. He is currently employed at TCF Bank. The couple will wed on July 23, 2010 at Community of Hope Church in Rosemount and will reside in Minneapolis.

She attended First Baptist School in Rosemount, Liberty University in Lynchberg, Va., and Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, Fla. Matthew is the son of Harold and Holly Courtney of Henderson, Ky. He attended high school in Henderson, and Oakland City University in Oakland City, Ind. He is a youth pastor at First Christian Church in Sturgis, Ky. A July 10, 2010 wedding is planned at Bethesda Church in Prior Lake.
