Mother, son charged with altering death scene in Hampton 
A Hampton Township man and his mother have both been charged with interfering with a death scene after they allegedly moved several empty methadone bottles last December.

Charges filed against Hampton bank robbery suspect 
A 49-year-old Minneapolis man made his initial court appearance Feb. 9 on charges he robbed 13 Minnesota banks, including a Merchant’s Bank branch in Hampton, between March 9, 2011 and Jan. 3, 2012.

Gudmundson named interim sheriff in Steele County 
Former Dakota County Sheriff Don Gudmundson has been selected sheriff
again, this time in Steele County.
At a special Steele County Board of Commissioners meeting Friday
afternoon, the commissioners authorized county coordinator Dave
Severson to begin contract negotiations with Gudmunson, who retired as
Dakota County Sheriff at the end of February.
