Farmington police chief Brian Lindquist and his staff are getting ready for the increased number of calls regarding theft of personal property that always seems to come as the days get longer and warmer. Lindquist is also appealing to residents to think about what they can do to prevent break-ins to their cars, garages and homes.
They say boys will be boys.
And boy, was there some excitement in Farmington’s Tamarack Park last week.
Farmington police officer Nate Siem took a call for assault with a BB gun after two groups of boys had a scuffle in the park.
Michael Thanghe admitted to police he shouldn’t have been driving when he was pulled over March 28. But that might be the least of his problems.
Thanghe, 33, of Faribault, has been charged with possession of theft tools and receiving stolen property after he was found with battery cables believed to have been stolen from Marschall Lines bus company in Farmington.
Dakota County Drug Task Force agents found drugs, syringes and a “large sum of cash” when they searched a Farmington home shortly after Christmas.
The Dakota County Attorney’s office has charged 26-year-old Michael Marshall Simmons with a felony drug offense as a result of the search.
They might not have all the impressive gadgets, computer programs or immediate matches you might see on the popular television series CSI or NCIS, but when it comes to crime scene investigations, the police departments in Farmington and Rosemount can still get results.
