The Farmington hockey team’s offense finally broke out of its slump Friday night against Shakopee. Boys hockey: Shots don't connect against Simley 
Things weren’t going well for Farmington even before the start of Saturday’s non-conference hockey game against Simley at Schmitz-Maki Arena.
The Tigers, playing their third game of the week, gave regular goalie Victor Simones the day off. An injury to back-up Austin Krause left goaltending duties to Nick Schoening, who made his first start of the season.

Farmington started out the Missota Conference season in fine fashion Friday night.
The Tigers scored three goals in the second period and pulled away from Shakopee 4-1 in their league opener at Shakopee Ice Arena.

Farmington’s early-season Section 1AA preview tour yielded more promising results last week.
Coming off a loss and a tie to Rochester John Marshall and Rochester Century to open the season, the Tigers had no trouble lighting up the scoreboard in back-to-back road wins over section opponents Winona and Owatonna.

Boys hockey: Top-seeded South sends Farmington packing 
Keith Revels saw no reason to make up excuses. His Farmington Tigers simply ran into a better team in Saturday’s Section 1AA semifinals.
Top-seeded Lakeville South scored three goals in each of the first two periods at the Rochester Recreation Center and ended up advancing to the section finals with a 7-0 victory. The Tigers, who entered having won five games in a row, were shut out for the first time in 13 months.
