Gymnastics: Klima sixth at state in uneven parallel bars PressPass

Farmington gymnast Terra Klima saved her best for last in her record-setting junior season. Klima, competing in her first Class AA State Meet Saturday night at the University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion, broke her own school record with a score of 9.5 on the uneven parallel bars. The score earned her a sixth-place finish, which matched the finish of Farmington’s last state qualifier, current head coach Lynn Bauman, in 1993.

Gymnastics: Klima ends Farmington’s 17-year state meet drought It’s been 17 years since a Farmington gymnast competed at the State Gymnastics Meet. That will change when junior Terra Klima approaches the uneven parallel bars Saturday night at the University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion. Klima, who set the school record in the event in her first year in the high school program, qualified for state with a third-place score of 9.4 in the event at the Section 1AA Championships Friday at Owatonna.

Team approaches 140 again vs. New Prague PressPass

The Farmington gymnastics team didn’t duplicate the record-setting 140-point team score it achieved at Rosemount two weeks ago. Nevertheless, the Tigers put up some solid numbers while splitting a pair of Missota Conference meets last week. They were competitive in a 142.125-134.05 loss to a strong Northfield team last Tuesday, then improved their team score by more than four points in a 138.5-135.6 win over New Prague on Friday.

Gymnastics: Record showing in the bars lifts team past 140 PressPass

Familiar competition and a record-setting performance in the uneven parallel bars helped the Farmington gymnastics team score in the 140s for the first time ever last week in Rosemount. The Tigers claimed four of the top spots in the bars and garnered a team record score of 35.1 in the event, which helped them to an overall score of 140.35 in a 143.4-140.35 loss to a talented Rosemount team.

Just two winters ago Farmington gymnastics coach Lynn Bauman was excited to see her team achieve a score in the low 130s. Now, she believes her squad has what it takes to reach the 140 mark by the end of the season. The Tigers continued to raise expectations with what Bauman believed was first quad-meet victory in program history Saturday in Apple Valley.
