Wrestling: Forfeited weights the difference at Shakopee dual 
Forfeited matches at 171 and 189 pounds once again cost the Farmington wrestling team a team victory Friday night in Shakopee, but coach Jon Lund continued to be pleased with the effort put forth by both his veteran and first-year grapplers.

Boys hockey: Play improves, results stay the same 
Farmington hasn’t managed a win in four Missota Conference games dating back to a 13-1 drubbing by fifth-ranked Holy Angels 16 days ago.
But the team did find a bit of a spark Thursday night at Prairie Island Arena in Red Wing, where it held a third-period lead before falling to Red Wing, 4-3. The Wingers were 8-1 winners in last year’s matchup.

Swimming and diving: Times drop in loss to Northfield 
Farmington won just two of 12 events, but swam to numerous season-best times in Thursday’s 97-86 Missota Conference dual loss to Northfield at Dodge Middle School.
“We still had a very uplifting meet with our veterans dropping some great time,” coach Ryan Hamen said.

Girls basketball: Tigers walk over Winhawks 
The Farmington girls basketball team rebounded from a sloppy loss to 10th-ranked (Class 3A) Red Wing by rolling past Winona in an equally lopsided fashion on Saturday.

Boys basketball: Looking for answers 
Farmington has been at a size disadvantage in just about every game it has played this year. That was once again the case Saturday night in Chaska.
The 10th-ranked Hawks got 23 points apiece from 6-foot-7 juniors Ross Travis and Jake White and turned a commanding 53-32 halftime advantage into a 92-71 non-conference win, their sixth win in a row. Next season the teams will square off twice as Chaska is set to join the Missota Conference starting in the fall.

Missota conference: Chaska, Chanhassen to join league in 2010 
Missota Conference Superintendent Chairperson Chris Richardson of Northfield sent a letter to Chaska Area Schools Superintendent David Jennings last Wednesday informing him Chaska High School, as well as the new Chanhassen High School, had been accepted as new members of the Missota Conference beginning in the fall of 2010.
