Southwest Minnesota State senior Abby Kenealy became the 18th member of the 1,000-point club finishing with 16 points but it would not be enough as Northern State University (10-7, 6-6 NSIC) went on to take a 69-55 win from the Mustangs on Saturday night in Marshall.
The 23rd-annual Farmington Tiger Classic Tournament will be held in Farmington Saturday and Sunday.
A total of 158 boys teams from five states will be competing in tournaments for grades four through eight. Games will be played at Farmington High School, Boeckman Middle School and Dodge Middle School.
All girls and boys entering grades 3-8 for the 2010-2011 school year are eligible to participate in Farmington Travel Basketball. Registrations received through July 31 are eligible for the $50 early bird discount.
Shane Wyandt is a physical education teacher and the head boys basketball coach at Farmington High School. The Tigers have won 35 games over the last three years, including a 13-14 mark last year, since going 1-24 in 2005-06.
