Chanhassen won four of the final five events to separate from Farmington in an eventual 98-88 Missota Conference dual meet loss Thursday night at Dodge Middle School.

Swimming: O'Reilly wins four events as Tigers top Red Wing
The Farmington girls swimming and diving team had no trouble gliding by Red Wing in its Missota Conference season opener last Tuesday.
Led by Kaitlyn O’Reilly’s four first-place finishes, the Tigers won nine of the meet’s 12 events in a 90-88 victory in Red Wing. The visitors led 90-50 after nine events, causing the last three events to be swum as exhibitions.

Apple Valley won seven of 12 events in its season-opening meet against Farmington last Thursday night at Levi Dodge Middle School.
The Eagles couldn’t match the Tigers’ depth, however, as the Orange and Black used four 2-3-4 and three 1-2-3 finishes to open the season with a 92-85 dual win.

Swimming: Magalis wins state dive title
The thought of being a state champion started to creep into Tyler Magalis’ mind at the Class 2A State Meet in 2008.
The freshman had just finished 11th in the 1-meter dive behind six seniors, two juniors and two sophomores. Magalis had already been training as a swimmer for six years, and he figured three more years of training as a diver and it could be him at the top of the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center podium by 2011.

A wealth of talent and depth helped the Farmington boys swimming and diving team rise above the rest of the five-team field at Saturday's Section 1AA True Team Championships.
The Tigers won four events, notched 11 other top-five finishes and scored 797 points to capture their first-ever true team championship at Northfield Middle School. The victory earned them the right to compete at this Saturday's Class 2A True Team State Meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.

Swimming and diving: Tigers second at South St. Paul
Farmington accumulated 357.5 points in earning a second-place finish at the nine-team South St. Paul Invitational Saturday at Central Square Community Center.
Cambridge-Isanti won the meet with 414 points. Hastings was third with 319 points, followed by River Falls (Wis.), South St. Paul, St. Louis Park, Tartan, St. Cloud Apollo and St. Paul Como Park.
