Chanhassen won four of the final five events to separate from Farmington in an eventual 98-88 Missota Conference dual meet loss Thursday night at Dodge Middle School.

Swimming: O'Reilly wins four events as Tigers top Red Wing 
The Farmington girls swimming and diving team had no trouble gliding by Red Wing in its Missota Conference season opener last Tuesday.
Led by Kaitlyn O’Reilly’s four first-place finishes, the Tigers won nine of the meet’s 12 events in a 90-88 victory in Red Wing. The visitors led 90-50 after nine events, causing the last three events to be swum as exhibitions.

Less than a month ago, Farmington qualified for state by winning its first-ever Section 1AA True Team championship. The year of firsts continued Saturday as the Tigers used victories in four events to claim their first-ever Missota Conference championship in front of a big home crowd at Dodge Middle School.

Farmington accumulated 357.5 points in earning a second-place finish at the nine-team South St. Paul Invitational Saturday at Central Square Community Center.
Cambridge-Isanti won the meet with 414 points. Hastings was third with 319 points, followed by River Falls (Wis.), South St. Paul, St. Louis Park, Tartan, St. Cloud Apollo and St. Paul Como Park.
