Boys hockey: Tigers reeling in final week
The Farmington boys hockey team didn’t build the momentum it had hoped heading into the Section 1AA tournament. The Tigers lost their final four games of the regular season, including three where they scored a combined four goals last week, as they slipped to sixth in the final Missota Conference standings.

Boys hockey: Eighth one-goal game of the season came Friday for Tigers
The 3-2 losses are getting a little hard to stomach for the Farmington boys hockey team. The Tigers suffered their third straight setback by that score against New Prague Friday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The team’s fourth straight one-goal loss, their eighth overall this season, was made even more frustrating by the fact Farmington blew a 2-0 lead, and outshot the Trojans 4-2 to start the overtime period before surrendering a short-handed goal.

Boys hockey: Tigers tie at Northfield
Just three games into its Missota Conference schedule, the Farmington boys hockey team has already experienced three extremely different results.
After skating to a fairly comfortable 5-1 win over Shakopee in their league opener, the Tigers were blown out 11-2 by Holy Angels last Tuesday at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The team bounced back by playing rival Northfield to a 2-2 tie last Thursday at Northfield Ice Arena.

Boys hockey: Tigers lose, tie in opening week
The Farmington boys hockey team is starting the 2011-12 season with games against six straight Section 1AA opponents.
The Tigers are hoping wins will be easier to come by in the next four than they were in the first two. After skating to a 2-2 tie against an equally inexperienced Rochester John Marshall team in last Tuesday’s season opener, the Tigers allowed four straight goals in an eventual 6-2 loss to Rochester Century back at Schmitz-Maki Arena Thursday.
